The Nobel Prize in Natural Science and the InnovationType Country(School of Philosophy, Fudan University, Shanghai 200433)Abstract: It is one of the most important signals of the innovationtype country to possess a lot of Nobel Prize winners in natural science and prize achievements. This essay, by taking the "countries where winners work out their prize achievement" as the criteria, has a statistical investigation of the number of the Nobel Prize winners in natural science all over the world. The result reveals that these winners concentrate highly on such principal innovationtype countries as the United States, Britain, Germany and France. And for these innovationtype countries, the essay has a detailed analysis of their original innovation in science and technology, which has been considered as the basic strategic orientation of the state development, as the national innovation system that is not only distinctive but also full of vitality, as the possession of the topgrade universities in the world that can train and bring up scientific elites, as the powerful input of the research fund, and as the academic environment of opening, relaxation and freedom. And then, the essay goes further to disclose their creative mechanism and supporting system of the society, in which those scientific elites as the Nobel Prize winners are working. By summing up China' s achievements of the worldwide attention in the process of going into the creative country, and having an analysis of the main problem and big difference existing in China' s doing so, especially the problem of "why China has nothing with the Nobel Prize" from the perspective of combing history with reality, the essay also has a deep probe into the main reason why there is such a big difference between China and the western countries. The author considers that it will not be a dream for China to have a Nobel Prize in natural science. So long as it faces up to reality, being patient for success and solving effectively every problem, China will be sure to become a new rising star that shines in the worldwide innovationtype countries.

]While genre films are characteristic of the narrative structure grounded on space relationships, transcending narratives consist of their interior mechanism full of vitality. Hollywood films can keep a virtuous cycle all the time simply because they pursue a different performance in the formula. On the one hand, the cultural turn at the age of globalization promotes a wider attempt or application for the transcending narrative of crossing genres; and on the other hand, the mixture of antigenre transcending methods and diversified modes display the narrative turn of Hollywood films in the structure and layout of the narrative space. Especially, Hollywood' s transcending consciousness based on the global view makes genre films unfold a market strategy or cultural trend of the transition to postgenre films, which is an inevitable resonance phenomenon of the coming of global age and the current development of genre films.

The concepts of condensation and displacement date back to Freud' s The Interpretation of Dreams, and, afterwards, through Lacan, enter into the system of Metz' s film semiotics, thus changing from an unconscious work mechanism, or an unconscious operating mechanism of language, to a kind of film rhetoric that relates to a contrast with metaphor and metonymy in psychoanalysis semiotics. By discussing the process of how these two concepts were put forward by Freud, and extended or transferred by Lacan, and melt by Metz into his system of theory, which is similar to the "concept history", this essay tries best to use a relatively new angle to give some more thinking of Metz' s research methods and theoretical values.

Since the nuclear disaster at Fukushima, the global nuclear circle has started a new round of reflection on atomic energy. And in the international community, there appear two different views of "denuclearization" and "nuclearpreserving". While the former is represented by Germany, the latter is characterized by France and the United States. In view of China' s actualities of energy structure—depending heavily on traditional fossil energy and the proportion of nuclear power being low—it should not change its direction of developing nuclear power so as to guarantee energy safety, combat global warming and cleanse energy. At the same time, based on the comparison and analysis of the legislation of atomic energy between the United States, France and Japan, and in order to ensure the healthy development of nuclear energy industry, China should take environmental protection as priority, put safety first and lay equal stress on economics and marketization in its orientation of drafting of Atomic Energy Law. After that, it should go further to improve regulatory system for nuclear energy and establish insurance system for nuclear pollution.

In 1994, Professor Wang Yonghao and I stated an argument: TwentyFour Varieties of Poetic Experience is a bogus book. Since that, more than ten years have passed. A lot of new evidence about this bogus book is added. But at the same time, there are some queries put forward, which are chiefly represented by the related statements of such three professors as Zu Baoquan, Zhang Shaokang and Wang Bugao. Even these three professors propose that the main evidence that helps to establish the bogus book is knocked down. This essay, in detail, enumerates the main arguments of these three professors, and refutes point by point the eight statements in Zhang Shaokang' s "Arguments on the Truth and Falseness of TwentyFour Varieties of Poetic Experience". All these statements by him are considered as being untenable. In addition, this essay makes a further interpretation of Su Shi' s words about the "twentyfour rhymes", and, by virtue of the statements from some persons in the Song and Yuan dynasties, points out that those words have nothing with Sikong Tu. And also this essay makes a textual research for the historical traces of TwentyFour Varieties of Poetic Experience since the Tang Dynasty, and, academically, gives a proper explanation of literature spreading in the Tang and Song dynasties. It concludes that, up to now, as far as existing evidence is concerned, the publishing date of TwentyFour Varieties of Poetic Experience has not gone beyond the limit of the beginning of the 14th century (1300 A.D.).

From the Eastern Jin Dynasty to the Northern Song Dynasty, Taizhou was wellknown for its "immortal cradle and Buddha residence". The mainstream of its regional culture was Taoism and Buddhism. Thus Taizhou' s landscape became topics for writers' poetry creation in the Tang and Song dynasties. Very often, they made an "imagination of the heavens", depicting socalled great supermen, mysterious historicsites, colorful scenes, magnificent temples and queer mountains. In the middle and later periods of the Northern Song Dynasty, Confucianism (mainly Hu Yuan' s Theory of the Spring and Autumn) began to spread in Taizhou. And after "fleeing to the South", a large quantity of the officers from the North tramped the streets in Taizhou, where they opened schools, built ancestral temples, sorted out country literature, and exchanged learning with local scholars, bringing Confucianism (mainly Zhu Xi' s NeoConfucianism) to Taizhou. As a result, the regional culture in Taizhou changed from the "kingdom of immortals and Buddha" to the "coastal region of cultural prosperity".

Shen Zengzhi and Buddhism(Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Shanghai University, Shanghai 200444)Abstract: 〖WTBZ]Centering on Shen Zengzhi who was a representative poet of the Zhejiang school with the TongGuang style in the periods of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, this essay makes a research for the relationship between his academics, literature, sources and Buddhism. Just like China' s classic poetry, Buddhism and Confucianism also face the pressure of modernization. He advocates Buddhism because he wants to blend the conflict of the Eastern and Western cultures through Buddhism, which, actually, after the 1911 revolution, lagged behind the times due to the traditional Confucian idea of loyalty to sovereign. In the aspect of understanding Buddhist doctrines, he upholds the unity of Confucianism and Buddhism, and treats equally different sects of Buddhism, which lays a foundation for Master Taixu' s discrimination and criticism later. And in the textual research, he has a wide view, not only caring about the Chinese Buddhism, but also being interested in the Indian Buddhism, especially the history of Zen, for the study of which he is far earlier than Hu Shi. And in the aspect of literature, he uses a lot of Buddhist allusions in the creation of poetry, inheriting and developing the artistic style of the Zhejiangschool poets such as Zhu Yizun and Qian Zai who have a fancy for rare words and allusions. For him, Buddhism isn' t only a kind of spiritual sustenance that can settle down his disturbed soul but also a means for literary creation.

(School of Social Sciences, Shanghai University, Shanghai 200444)Abstract: 〖WTBZ]In modern Shanghai, Ningbo businessmen, with their given conditions of community structures and group features, became a strong force that could not be neglected in Shanghai' s economic circle. Shortly before and after the 1930s, Shanghai' s social economy was facing an unprecedented predicament. But Ningbo businessmen in Shanghai, under the circumstance of "hope and despair coexisted, and success and failure alternated", coped ingeniously with timevarying and brought out the best in them, achieving remarkable success in the circles of industry and commerce. During this period, the contradictory phenomenon of "prosperity in crises", not only reflected the social feature of modern Shanghai' s heterogeneity and diversity, but also displayed China's characteristics of "followingsurpassing" at that time.

]With the Yihetuan Movement coming to a climax, and under the pressure of several political forces both at home and abroad, such inspectors and governors in the South as Li Hongzhang, Liu Kunyi and Zhang Zhidong, out of their dissatisfaction with the policies of the Qing government, produced respectively an idea of independence or autonomy. But the subsequent change of the situation prompted them quickly to give up the idea and turn completely to the southeast mutual protection. This protection also displays some idea of independence or autonomy, which, under the political circumstances at that time, highlights the dissociation of the local regime and the central regime, even a spark of "revolution", but, ultimately, does not break through the political limit of local autonomy trend in the late Qing Dynasty. In essence, this protection is a kind of continuation and development of the local autonomy trend in the late Qing Dynasty, reflecting a great political crisis faced by the central regime. In other words, the continuous development of the local autonomy trend in the late Qing Dynasty and the constant intensification of the regional idea based on the geographical complex are important inducement shaping the southeast mutual protection.
