On the Contribution of Hong Kong’s Leftwing Film Group between the 1960s and 1970s

摘要: 20世纪六七十年代,由于内地“文革”的影响和香港本土化意识的觉醒等原因,香港左派电影出现了前所未有的颓势。在这种氛围中,香港左派电影族群怀着爱国热情和对电影的挚爱,依然在延续人文脉流、保持写实传统、完善类型等方面做出了较大的美学贡献,并极力维系着曾经辉煌的左派文化;同时,尽管处于颓势之中,却仍在演艺人才培养、院线业的开拓及内地纪录片的发行等方面做出了产业贡献。

Abstract:  In the 1960s and 1970s, leftwing films in Hong Kong suffered unprecedented decline due to the impact of the “Cultural Revolution” in Mainland China and the emergence of nativism in Hong Kong. Despite the unfavorable climate, the leftwing film group, with their strong sense of patriotism and a passion for film, managed to perpetuate the humanistic and realist art, further diversified the film type and helped to preserve the rich legacy of the leftist tradition. The group also contributed to the film industry in its efforts to cultivate performing talents, expand cinema lines, and issue documentaries from Mainland China.
