Abstract: The adherents of the subjugated Song and Jin dynasties were psychologically different. The adherents of the Song dynasty were much more attached to their former king and kingdom and less obedient than the adherents of the Jin dynasty. The former grieved over annexed land in their poems while the latter saddened at the hardship in journeys. The former praised Du fu for his loyalty and patriotism while the latter were moved by his wandering life. As to Tao Yuanming, the former valued his quality of loyalty while the latter emphasized his detachment.
