The former grieved over annexed land in their poems while the latter saddened at the hardship in journeys. The former praised Du fu for his loyalty and patriotism while the latter were moved by his wandering life. As to Tao Yuanming, the former valued his quality of loyalty while the latter emphasized his detachment.
