Abstract: Guan Jian was a Ci Poet, whose style was fresh and graceful, in the early Southern Song Dynasty. His collected work, Yangzhuotang Ci, is left, but nothing about his life and career has been studied. Here a textual research based on all sorts of ancient histories, local records, stone inscriptions and collected works intends to make a clear picture of his life and career. He was born in 1133 or a little later and lived 63 years. He was the grandson of Guan Shiren. Initially, he became an official because of his father's merit. Then, he was appointed different government posts successively. Finally, he died as Zhuanyunshi of Hubei.
