A Textual Research on Guan Jian's Life and Career

Abstract: Guan Jian was a Ci Poet, whose style was fresh and graceful, in the early Southern Song Dynasty. His collected work, Yangzhuotang Ci, is left, but nothing about his life and career has been studied. Here a textual research based on all sorts of ancient histories, local records, stone inscriptions and collected works intends to make a clear picture of his life and career. He was born in 1133 or a little later and lived 63 years. He was the grandson of Guan Shiren. Initially, he became an official because of his father's merit. Then, he was appointed different government posts successively. Finally, he died as Zhuanyunshi of Hubei.
