Revolution, Law and Women: On the Principle of Nofault Divorce #br# and the Liberation of Chinese Women in the 20th Century#br#

Abstract: The principle of nofault divorce derived from concept of marriage freedom and was implemented to various extents at different stages of revolution. It was finally established with the passage of the Marriage Law in 1950, thus clearing the way for modern marital and family relationship. The implementation of the nofault principle has liberated women physically and mentally to a depth and extension unprecedented in history. Therefore,the principle of nofault divorce pushed forward Chinese women's liberation in the form of law in the 20th century, and the experience thus gained in the process of revolution is also an invaluable historical asset to Chinese women.
