Abstract: 1949 or 1950s marked a watershed in the study of modern neoConfucianism. Before that, home scholars did not regard neoConfucianism as a school or thought trend, and studies ware just sorts of case study of contending and selfconsciousness, putting more attention to a single person's thoughts and academic achievement, and bluntly contending the research result as a school of thought. This phenomenon reflects the coexistence and interaction of multiculture then. The modern neoConfucianism in the first half of the 20th century bears inspiring and referential meaning to the late 1980s' neoConfucianism study.
Key words: neo-Confucianism, research, 1950s
