Abstract: 1949 or 1950s marked a watershed in the study of modern neoConfucianism. Before that, home scholars did not regard neoConfucianism as a school or thought trend, and studies ware just sorts of case study of contending and selfconsciousness, putting more attention to a single person's thoughts and academic achievement, and bluntly contending the research result as a school of thought. This phenomenon reflects the coexistence and interaction of multiculture then. The modern neoConfucianism in the first half of the 20th century bears inspiring and referential meaning to the late 1980s' neoConfucianism study.

Key words: neo-Confucianism, research, 1950s
