Abstract: While Aristotle’s “middleclass” government of ancient Greek citystate derivates from his idealist design of politics, his highly praised concepts of the “middle class” such as reason and mean also serves as a theoretical foil for the establishment of the system. In fact, this “middleclass” government is not only a subjective product characteristic of apriority and utopianism, but also has extreme strong classconsciousness. Thus it is not proper for applying his “middleclass” theory to the value judgment of current middle class.

Key words: government, reason, mean, middle class
