Abstract:
Initiated byPickowicz's studies on the sixthgeneration (6G) films, the paper strives to reinterpret 6G films in terms of geographical landscapes, aesthetic styles and theoretical support through crosscultural comparison and a dialogue with Pickowicz in a pluralistic perspective.Pickowicz's views of the 6G films are still confined to an orientaloccidental binary fashion, but the multidimension, rich elements and aesthetic traits contained in 6G films can hardly be simplified by the new Occidentalism in Pickowicz's term, not to say that the richness and complexity in aesthetics and meaning go beyond the category of realism.
