Abstract: American modern Christian music, which has its roots in the resistant culture, has been a great success both in the commercial world and in the cause of evangelism. Based on a careful examination of its religious and secular nature, the present condition of the industry and the mechanism of its operation, the paper seeks to analyze how American modern Christian music impacts evangelism and the American society in general. In addition, the paper tries to point out some of its problems as well as to suggest new approaches for the study of the use and influence of music in religion preaching.
