Abstract:
During the 30 years of reform and opening up, China makes great achievements in economic construction, but, at the same time, faces the increasingly serious problems of environments. Therefore, China wants to change the original mode of economic growth, building a lowcarbon economy. At the present, China is in a period of industrial and rapid urbanization. Although, because of the structure of coaldominated energy, China' s carbon dioxide emissions are in the front of the world, its per capita emissions are much lower than ones in developed countries. In this way, China should undertake a commonbutdifferentiated responsibility of reducing emissions. As the first step towards the low carbon economy, it is necessary for China' s traditional industries to save energy, reduce emissions and develop a circular economy. After that, the technology of advanced manufacturing and the internet of things should be developed so as to form a breakthrough of lowcarbon economy. While the adjustment of energy structure and the development of nuclear power and renewable energy are the basis for establishing lowcarbon society, advocating a lowcarbon, energysaving way of life is its fundamental guarantee.
