Abstract: Although studies on movie stars can be conducted from aspects such as production, consumption, industry and criticism, body representation, which is the key for movie stars to build images in performance, is a basic research angle. The face, owing to its expressiveness and the wide use of closeup shots, is the major ideographic element in an actor's body. Also, as an important part of the actors' body performance, body modification tends to resonate with the popular taste. The bodies of movie stars, while reflecting the development of film history and concepts as well as the change of public taste, have aroused all sorts of meaningful social and cultural issues through its competition with all kinds of power mechanism.
