Abstract: "How to respect the literary genre of Ci?" is a major question that Ci studies have tried to answer and the center of Zou Zhimo's thought of Ci. According to Zou, a successful composition of Ci should be standard in the design of rhyme and intonation, effective in the expression of word and emotion, perfect in the integration of feeling and setting, and meaningful in the organization of structure and content. In Yuan Zhi Zhai Ci Zhong he argued that "tuning should not be regarded as an inferior rhetorical device" and thus promoted the respect of the literary genre of Ci in related studies in Qing Dynasty.
