Abstract: Chen Kai-ge’s films not only have elegant narrations, picturesque dialogues and personal styles but also, willingly or unwillingly, follow the concept of the “negator going to his opposite”. He uses the principles of the two things being both opposite and complement to each other and things negating themselves when they reach their limits, and gives a reflection on traditional culture and humanity. Thus he creates the beauty of image, embodying his film innovation and aspiration of aesthetics.
Key words: opposite to each other, philosophical thinking, beauty of image, the negator going to his opposite
