Abstract: In the 20th century, for the research for the Tang poems, there has formed a common understanding. And a richer fruit has been gained in the field of the microstudy. But the macrostudy has not been spreading out yet. While the research for the “regional culture and the Tang poems” achieves greatly, the research for the “Tang poems and the culture of Western regions” produces little effect. At the same time, the achievements in the fields of Tang culture, cultural exchange and Western regions, objectively, lay an important basis for the fullscale research for the latter. Therefore, it is imperative to transform the research mode for the “Tang poems and the culture of Western regions”.
